Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Tax is a key member of our senior leadership team and has oversight for the Company’s global tax administration.
This position requires an experienced strategic, business-oriented leader with high integrity and proven success leading in a goal-driven, team-focused, fast-paced environment with strong business acumen and communication skills.
Working with Masco’s corporate and business unit leadership, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for the following: Position Key Responsibilities Responsible for the Company’s global tax matters reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer Responsible for all domestic and international direct and indirect taxes of the Company including tax planning, tax compliance, tax accounting, acquisitions & dispositions, and tax audits Provides C-Suite and Business Unit leadership with technical and strategic tax guidance in a “Business Partner” relationship Manages a team of tax professionals providing leadership and mentoring Interfaces with the Company’s external independent auditor Responsible for the strategy, assessment and application of technology tools utilized by the tax function Leads the application of continuous improvement mindset across the department Manages outside counsel and consultants that support the function’s tax planning and compliance Supervises the quarterly SEC tax provision filings and SOX 404 process and related documentation Responsible for talent development, mentoring and coaching in tax and across the Finance function Interfaces with and supports corporate office functions including Finance, Legal, and Human Resources Responsible for the Company’s governmental affairs relating to tax including the IRS and Compliance Assurance Process (CAP program) Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, Bachelor’s in Accounting preferred J.
D.
or Master’s of Science in Taxation preferred 15+ years of tax management experience in a corporate tax department and/or as a senior level tax professional in a public accounting firm Significant International tax experience with demonstrated technical knowledge in various international statutes and regulations related to specific global tax jurisdictions and countries (including the European Union and Luxembourg rules and regulations) Business acumen demonstrated by the knowledge and understanding necessary to address a wide range of business strategies, challenges, and opportunities Strong teamwork skills with a proven track record of managing a group of tax professionals in a collaborative environment Technical tax knowledge in all areas of tax, specifically Federal, international, M&A, State, Local, and Tax Accounting Experience in leading large change management initiatives Worked in, or familiar with the IRS Compliance Assurance Process program (CAP) and embraces the philosophy of a tax function “CAP” environment Effective communicator adept at translating and explaining technical tax concepts to non-tax business personnel in non-technical terminology Executive presence, communication and relationship building skills necessary to address diverse audiences including Executive Management, Audit Committee, Business Unit leadership teams, and Functional Lead peers CPA preferred Company: Masco Full time Hiring Range: $208,900.
