Position Title: Cost Accounting Manager
The Cost Accounting Manager manages the activities of the cost accounting function.
Collaborates closely with internal supply chain team to appropriately account for and track the companies’ activities at third-part storage locations and manufacturing locations that produce the Company’s commercial product.
Designs and develops procedures and policies for the cost accounting systems.
Assists the Finance team with day-to-day accounting and finance tasks such as month-end procedures, financial reporting, internal controls, and analyses.
Position reports to the Assistant Controller.
Position is full-time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
Responsible for the end-to-end accounting of the Company’s inventory, including collaboration with the Technical Operations and Financial Planning and Analysis teams, and all financial controls associated with inventory, including sales of the Company’s inventory to third-party collaborators
Maintenance of Standard Cost System, including purchased supply costs, development, and analysis of labor and overhead rates, as well as variances to actuals.
Reconcile general ledger to perpetual inventory system
Perform annual/quarterly inventory valuation
Assist with quarter-end reviews and year-end audits, including internal controls testing (SOX 404), particularly where it relates to the supply chain and inventory areas
Responsible for month-end close activities such as the accounting for the commercial and R&D supply costs, as well as other account reconciliations and journal entries as assigned
Assist with the development, design and implementation of new ERP system for fast growing company
Collaboration with supply chain and auditors for completion of physical year-end inventory counts at contract manufacturers and contract 3PL and warehouse locations.
This is likely to require annual travel to these locations

Qualifications (Education & Experience)
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related area
Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal testing controls SOX 404
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cost Accounting or inventory-related Public Accounting role
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting or Finance related role
Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets (Excel) and accounting software (ERP)
CPA or public accounting experience preferred but not required
Ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and work in a fast-paced environment
Must be detail-orientated with strong organization and communication skills
