A great UHY client is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree with at least a 3.
2 GPA, interest in taxation, strong analytical skills and attention to detail, and an ability to travel within the US up to 10%.
The *Tax Accountant* position is a hybrid position with 2 days in office.
_*Tax Accountant Responsibilities*_
* Prepares state and local tax documents including preparing property tax returns, sales/use tax returns and supporting schedules.
* Work with tax supervisor and tax manager and outside accounting firm to prepare federal and state income tax returns.
* Recommends tax strategies by researching federal, state, and local taxation issues.
* Maintains tax balance in general ledger, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for selected accounts.
* Assists with internal/external audits.
* Identifies tax saving opportunities and process/technology improvements.
* Responds to notices and correspondence received from tax authorities.
* Maintain tax rates in computer systems.
* Advise non-tax personnel regarding tax issues, as necessary.
_*Tax Accountant Education & Experience*_
* This job requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field and 0 to 2 years of position-related experience.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
* Intermediate Microsoft Office skills are required.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required.
* Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn are essential.
* Ability to travel within the US up to 10% is required.
* Demonstrated interest in taxation is strongly preferred.
* Minimum GPA of 3.
0 is preferred.
* Experience with tax research software and/or compliance software is a plus.
