Genacross Lutheran Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Child Care Workers to join our team in providing care and support for children living in residential treatment or group home settings.
As a Child Care Worker in this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children facing various challenges by creating a safe and nurturing environment for them to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and supervision to children living in residential treatment or group home settings.
Implement individualized care plans and behavioral interventions as directed by the treatment team.
Develop and facility behavioral programming for the residents in the home.
Support children in developing life skills, social skills, and coping mechanisms.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the well-being and progress of each child.
Maintain detailed documentation of each child's progress and any incidents.
Provide shift coverage as needed and in emergencies.
Qualifications:
Must be eighteen (18) or older.
High school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology or related field not required but preferred.
Previous experience working with children in residential treatment, group homes, or similar settings.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care and behavior management techniques.
Strong communication and crisis intervention skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
