9 Weeks (June to August 2024) $680/week Housing and meals provided Michigan United Conservation Clubs has operated our summer youth camp programs since 1946.
During this time, more than 59,000 youth have learned to enjoy the outdoors safely and have left camp with a deeper appreciation and respect for the natural world they live in.
Michigan Out-of-Doors Youth Camp is held throughout the summer at the restored Cedar Lake Outdoor Center near Chelsea, MI.
This camp focuses on outdoor technical skill building and teaching the science behind conservation as part of every camp theme offered.
During their week at camp, youth increase their knowledge of ecological concepts and broaden their awareness of conservation issues through hands-on nature experience.
Qualifications: Must be 18 years old Must have Level Two First aid and CPR (WFR, First Responder and higher training meet this qualification), and Responding to Emergencies Training (this training can be completed upon hire) Must be physically capable of performing daily camp tasks and traversing our 250-acre facility.
Responsibilities: oversee the Health Office and all supplies prepare daily prescriptions and keep documentation of both planned and unplanned procedures ability to collaborate with staff for medical needs follow and train staff on medical policy and procedures ensure the safety of camp provide a health screening for all campers as they attend camp Experience in outdoor recreation, education, childcare and an interest in natural resources preferred.
