The Roland PM-16 is a pad-to-midi interface which converts trigger signals into midi information.
Each of the 16 quarter inch inputs is switchable for line/pad or mic, allowing you to trigger sounds from pads or acoustic drums.
It has no built-in sounds but can access sounds from drum machines, keyboards, samplers and all other midi devices.
Up to 64 kits can be stored with 13 adjustable parameters per pad, including: Dynamics Curve, Dynamics Pitch, Dynamics Bend, Bend Depth, Bend Decay, Minimum Velocity, Layer (2 sounds) and Retrigger Limit Time.
Large, rubberized patch select buttons allow patch changes using drum sticks.
A back-lit display makes the 16 character user kit names easy to read on dimly lit stages.
Condition is good with the usual scuff marks for its age.
Three inputs (1, 4 and 12) are not working, which seems pretty common for these units.
That still leaves 13 working inputs but if you’re handy with a soldering iron, it’s probably an easy fix.
Includes original Roland adapter.
It’s got to go, so make me an offer!
