The Accounting Department is critical to the overall success of our company, and the Financial Analyst are the “ground forces” that provide the excellent team-centric mentality for which we are

You will provide fundamental day-to-day support for Gold Star’s financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting operations.
PRIMARY POSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Print and distribute daily checks for accounts payable, prepare spreadsheets to track various expenses, accounts receivable, and other budget items;
Performs various accounts payable functions, including reviewing and coding invoices, entering payments, and balancing company credit card statements;
Prepare various accounting entries to general ledger, analyze GL entries, balance and verify GL accounts daily, and reconcile as needed;
Analyze requests for expense reimbursements and confirm appropriateness of expense with relevant departments in accordance with Gold Star policy;
Communicate daily with check requestors, process invoices for internal teams, and obtain official documentation to substantiate expenses when required;
Prepares moderately complex spreadsheets, charts and graphs as part of problem solving and/or reporting requests;
Maintain high standards for security of information by following internal protocols and industry best practices;
Participate in budget development and forecasting by gathering information requested by senior management;
Review and process payroll transmissions, assist with reconciliation of bank statements, and assist with preparation of profit and loss statements, financials statements, and other related documents;
Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
One to three years prior experience in a similar capacity, with strong preference given to prior experience in mortgage banking;
Must possess exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing, be able to work independently, occasionally under pressure, and coordinate efforts with other business units;
Must also be extremely organized, maintain strict confidentiality, and operate in an ethical, candid, and straightforward manner while maintaining excellent peer-to-peer relations.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associate Degree is required, preferably with a focus on accounting, finance, or mathematics;
Proficiency in MS Office, QuickBooks, and with vendors such as Paychex, ADP, and Oracle strongly preferred.

The environment is characteristic of an office setting.
Must be able to execute complex tasks on time sensitive transactions and be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
