Daycare Assistant (School Age) Responsibilities:
*The Assistant Teacher – School Age* assists the Lead Teacher in: guiding children through an age-appropriate curriculum for ages 5 to 14 that develops self-help skills and instills the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility; maintaining a thorough understanding and knowledge of the child care programming of the Ann Arbor YMCA and will assist the Lead Teacher in the daily upkeep of the classrooms and its contents.
Assist in the daily operations of the daycare center, including supervising and engaging with children.
- Implement age-appropriate activities and educational programs to promote child development.
- Daycare Assistant (School Age) willmaintain a safe and clean environment for children, ensuring their well-being at all times.
- Provide basic care for infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and naptime routines.
- Daycare Assistant (School Age)will foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff members to create a supportive and nurturing environment.
- Assist in maintaining records of children's progress, behavior, and daily activities.
- Collaborate with other daycare staff to plan and organize special events or field trips.
Requirements:
- Daycare Assistant (School Age) Previous experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain a structured learning environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- First Aid and CPR certification is desirable.
- Must have a genuine passion for working with children and providing quality care.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education in early childhood development is a plus for *Daycare Assistant (School Age)*

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.
30 - $16.
51 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 28 per week
